MARCH

MR. ED’S TIPS:

Many of you may have missed one of our tips from several months ago because we are getting complaints of squirrels digging up plants in flower pots. If squirrels are causing this problem, it is easily solved by applying a two-inch layer of one-inch sized lava rock in the pot as mulch. The one-inch size of Desert Gold aggregate works just as well. Smooth oval rocks don’t work. The rocks have to be rough and jagged so they irritate the squirrel as it tries to dig.

FEATURED QUOTE :

"I appreciate the misunderstanding I have had with Nature over my perennial border. I think it is a flower garden; she thinks it is a meadow lacking grass, and tries to correct the error."
